No one likes the inconvenience of roadwork, but I know in the end if it makes the roads better, then I am cool with it.

This week’s roadwork roundup looks like this: (Provided by TXDOT)

  • North Frankford Ave. at US 84 will be closed to all traffic beginning July 24th in order to rebuild the entire intersection.

(From TXDOT) “Northbound Frankford Avenue drivers will be detoured east on the frontage road onto Quaker Avenue north to FM 2641 to connect with US 84 and reconnect with FM 2528. Eastbound US 84 and southbound Frankford traffic will also both use FM 2641 and Quaker Avenue to navigate around the work zone.

Westbound US 84 main lane traffic will not be impacted. The intersection is scheduled to remain closed for two weeks. Work will take place weather permitting.

  • The Marsha Sharp Freeway will be closed westbound at Loop 193 in Wolfforth on Tuesday, July 25th to seal the roadway.

(From TXDOT) “Traffic will be detoured onto the frontage road at exit 179.”

  • Boston Ave. at 19th street will have the main lanes closed due to sidewalk rebuilding.

(From TXDOT) “Work to rebuild the crosswalk at Boston Avenue is expected to take seven days to complete. Once work is finished at Boston, crews will move onto Flint Avenue on July 31 to rebuild the crosswalk at that location, with the same driving conditions-no thru-traffic on Flint, with motorists still having access to 19th Street. Work at the Flint crosswalk is also anticipated to take seven days to complete. Both north and southbound Boston Avenue traffic will continue to have access to 19th Street.”

Be careful out there and remember speeding fines double if you get a ticket in a work area while workers are present!
