On this "first hit Monday" is a singer who's songs ride the country traditional route. His called "the big man", he's all of 6'6" and he just celebrated his 50th birthday. He is Trace Adkins.

In the early 90's he was playing the clubs and honky tonks and making the circuit. He then finally moved to Nashville and signed a contract with Capitol Records.

His first album came out in 1996 called "Dreamin' Out Loud". The first song off the album, "Every Light In The House" went to number three.The next single,"I Left something Turned On At Home" went to number two. The third single off the album,"(This Ain't) No Thinkin' thing", was the charm. It went straight to number one.

Trace Adkins has since become a major star in country music.
