A partner in the publishing firm that originally published 50 Shades of Grey won a trial this week over royalty disputes for the trio of novels that have sold more than 100 million copies.

A jury concluded Jennifer Lynn Pedroza was indeed an original partner of The Writer’s Coffee Shop, who originally published the books.

The jury also determined fraud was committed when Pedroza entered into a service agreement with the company and was deprived of the eventual sale of publishing rights to Random House, said Pedroza’s attorney in a press release.

The full amount of damages will be determined after an audit determines Pedroza’s share of royalties from the New York Times best-selling novel.

Pedroza was represented by Dallas-based law firm Vincent Lopez Serafino Jenevein, PC.
