The Red Raiders were a little slow in getting started in their opener Saturday night against Texas State, but found their gear and ran to a 50-10 win over the Bobcats. One thing that didn't find it's identity was the 3rd quarter anthem.

This was a new tradition that was to start this year. Coach Tommy Tuberville wanted something to be played that was loud and would get everybody up and ready for the 4th quarter. Something on the order of the jump around at Wisconsin.

Well, the video announcing the 3rd quarter anthem came up on the video board but there was no song. Everybody seemed to be waiting.

Then when the song did play, it was the AC/DC song "Thunderstruck", which has been used forever at Tech baseball games. It didn't seem to get anyone "jumping around".

Coach Tuberville had said in a previous press conference that if this song didn't everyone excited and loud, then a voted would be taken on a new song, and keep voting until a song connects.

It a great idea, but if it's going to work, as soon as that 3rd quarter ends, that song, whatever it is, has to start and has to start "LOUD".
