    Gil Roberts - 400m

Gil Roberts has already qualified for the Olympic team as a participant in the 400m.

“The goal was to make it to Rio, and I did whatever I could to get it,” Roberts said. “I got second, so I’m pleased with it. I’ve still got things to work on, so that’s always a positive knowing that you didn’t do everything perfect when you lost.”

Roberts ran a 44.73 in the final heat to place second. The top three qualified for the team.

    Bradley Adkins - High Jump

Bradley Adkins was a 1st team All-American and got 2nd place in the Big 12 Tournament. He hit the Olympic standard and qualified for the trials at the Tyson Invitational in February.

Adkins battled off competitors and the rain this weekend to place 3rd in the finals of the high jump Olympic Trials. Adkins did not hit the Olympic Standard this past weekend, but he exceeded it in a previous meet so will be joining Team USA and heading to Rio.

    Hannah Carson - Javelin

Hannah Carson placed 2nd in the javelin this weekend, but failed to hit the Olympic Standard.

Since she had not hit the standard previously, she will not be moving on to Rio despite placing second this weekend.

Guns Up to Carson for representing the Red Raiders on a huge stage and getting a silver medal.
